After a friend of a friend told me about Forums, I went to a meeting and was
introduced to a group of CBMC members. It’s been about 7 years since I became a
member of Forums.

I was looking to be in a group with other like-minded, Christian CEOs, where I
could learn to run a business biblically. I was a member of another business
group for about 8 years, and I wasn’t getting fed. It was a great group of guys,
but it was secular and I felt like we had very little in common. The social
events were very secular and it just wasn’t for me. It was too worldly.

We pray for each other in the Forums group. I am accountable to
them. They help me in such a big way. I was losing so much money
every month when I first started my business. They encouraged
me to stick it out. They taught me that if God is being glorified
through my business, He would bless it. The group encourages
me to continue and not doubt.

I’ve been married 29 years. We have 3 kids. Forums has enriched
my family life. It’s a platform for me to share my business stresses,
rather than bring them home as much I could be. It’s a good place
to vent and to bounce my business ideas around.

Anyone in business who loves the Lord and wants to be equally
yoked should come to Forums. Life is too short to hang around
worldly people. You need to seek the Lord in your business and
focus on what’s significant. I became burnt out from being in the
worldly crowd. I needed godly wisdom. After I gave my life to the Lord
I realized my need for more. I could only get so far with the secular
crowd I was hanging out with. God calls us to be good stewards and
multiply our talents.

Secular council only offers temporary bandages, never a permanent fix.
When you get godly council, it’s permanent and significant. I want to be more
than a guy making money. I want to multiply the talents God has given me.
