Bill Perry introduced Forums to our CBMC Orange group. After about a month, I attended
the informational lunch, and I was contacted to join a Forums group. I have been involved
for about 2 years.

I grew up in my field doing the technical work. When I took over the business,
I realized I had no business experience. Bill Perry and Barry Weir
approached me and talked about how Forums would be beneficial
to my situation.

Forums has made me realize that I need systems in place. It showed
me that God loves my employees, and I have to love them also, and
that I need to understand my financials and they need to be accurate.

I am married to Lisa Foster, and we have two kids, Ethan (5) and
Rebecca (23 mo). The kids aren’t old enough to realize what’s
going on in the business. I’ve grown up in this business, so I’ve
always had an “owners” view on life. My wife was always had an
employee’s perspective. I have learned to go to her for her opinions
on things, to see how I can have compassion for my employees. It’s
blessed my wife to see that I now have a Christian perspective on
the company.

Forums has strengthened my personal walk with Christ. We use
Scripture-based materials in Forums, so any time issues are brought
up in the group, it’s helped us work through those issues together, and
forced me to get into God’s word to understand the business. Now I can
walk in and have my Bible next to my computer. We even have a
Wednesday morning Bible study in the office.

You can’t put a price on honest opinions from your peers. Finding a
Christian-based group, where God is the center, is invaluable. You’re not
alone in business, get in a forum and you’ll find out your not alone. Others
have experienced what you’re experiencing.
